Fishers Port – A trading post and fishing village located on Coldmere. It is unusual in that it is not exclusively a Normen settlement, but a mixed community of farmers, merchants and fishermen. Lewatollma and her people arrived here by ship and their operations are centralized here.
Piney Ridge – A neighboring farming community just north of Hares End. Eram’s sister-in-law’s oldest son lives there with his wife and children.
Hares End – A simple farming community nestled on the top of a slope that runs down into a forested area. Beyond the forest is the Emmering that runs through a narrow rocky gorge. On the hillside lives a number of warrens home to wild hares. The hares are a source of food for the villagers. Their community center is a large lodge located. Eramus has lived there all his life. His father was the chief farmer and that role was handed down to Eramus.
Miricel – Chief city of the Fair Folk. It’s central feature is a massive citadel designed to resist attacks and protect the inhabitants. Outside of the citadel is a sprawling city replete with shops, inns, mills, granaries and craftsmen of every sort. Large, well-maintained fields, flocks and orchards supply the populace with everything needed to live a long and healthy life.
Blue Desert – A dangerous, poisonous wasteland that separates the villages above the Emmering from the Soulanders. Called the blue desert because at night, a blue glow can be seen from a distance. Travellers who enter here become sick and die horribly. The Emmering has washed the nearby parts of the Blue Desert clean and has created a safe passage along the banks of it’s south side.
Emmering River – A large river that cuts through the southern reaches of Eram’s world. It has cut a high bluff 200-300 feet high out of the adjoining land, creating an impassable barrier to travelers coming from the south. This river originates from Coldmere and flows through a deeply cut valleys and dense woods. It slows and spreads out wide at Ravens Ford where several other lesser streams flow into it. Exiting on the west end of Raven’s Ford, it converges into a sizeable flow which cuts through a rocky section of land forming waterfalls and swift running gorges. Upon exiting the gorge, it slows, widens and turns south and becomes a navigable river.
Ravens Ford – The only place that permits access across the Emmering to the lands northward. In the distant past, it has been the site of devastating wars between the Soulanders and the Fair Folk. Named Ravens Ford because carrion birds have flocked to this location in the past to feed off the remains of dead armies.
Coldmere – A deep, cold lake. The map only shows one edge, but the lake itself is expansive body of water that stretches to the horizon.
